VOLU-MENT – Mental Health Through Volunteering

Youth Association DRONI is proud to be a partner in the VOLU-MENT project – an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership launched in July 2025. Coordinated by the Talentum Foundation for the Support of Volunteering (Hungary), the project brings together four civil society organizations from Georgia, Hungary, Portugal, and Türkiye, working to strengthen the capacity of organisations active in local volunteering and ESC hosting/sending.

Our Mission in VOLU-MENT

We are committed to empowering youth and supporting inclusive civic engagement. The VOLU-MENT project addresses the pressing need for mental well-being in youth work and aims to strengthen the impact of volunteering across Europe and beyond.

Main Objectives

  • RAISE AWARENESS OF VOLUNTEERING REINFORCED BY MENTAL SUPPORT
  • Empower staff coordinating and mentoring young volunteers
  • Provide practical methods of mental support

Additional Goals

  • Increase the capacity and skills of youth-serving organizations
  • Promote inclusive practices in civic society
  • Improve young people’s mental health through structured volunteering
  • Encourage social engagement among youth
  • Highlight volunteering as a preventive tool to decision-makers
  • Support long-term active youth participation

Key Work Packages

WP1: Project Management

Coordination of all partner activities, professional meetings, risk management, project communication, and dissemination materials.

WP2: Research & Best Practices

This phase aims to PROVIDE THE SUITABLE BASIS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROJECT PRODUCTS by conducting comparative research and collecting insights from all partner countries.

  • Local RESEARCH ON THE YOUTH ATTITUDES AND MOTIVATION IN VOLUNTEERING
  • Action plans based on country-specific data
  • COLLECTION OF BEST PRACTICES from partner organisations
  • Mapping organizational capacities for improved mental support

WP3: Empowering Workshop & E-Guide

The goal is to EMPOWER THE STAFF AT VOLUNTEER HOSTING CSOs WITH PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE and equip them with tools to support young volunteers.

  • An INTERNATIONAL EMPOWERING WORKSHOP using non-formal learning methods
  • A multilingual PRACTICAL E-GUIDE ON VOLUNTEERING MENTAL SUPPORT, featuring:
    • Challenges and solutions
    • Methods and tools
    • Infographics and videos
    • Real stories and mentoring examples

WP4: Local Actions & Impact

Designed to DISCOVER THE COMPLEMENTARY IMPACT AND ADDED VALUE OF VOLUNTEERING in local communities and to evaluate its effectiveness.

  • Implementation of LOCAL VOLUNTARY ACTIONS
  • Impact measurement with participating youth and youth workers
  • MULTIPLICATION EVENTS to share and scale results
  • Development of a POLICY RECOMMENDATION
  • Establishment of a COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE for sustained peer learning
