Hello summer! გამარჯობა ზაფხულო! June brought summer heat to Tbilisi and a fresh start for DRONI as we moved into our new office. We’re excited to fill this new space with workshops, ideas, and unforgettable moments.
This month also meant saying goodbye to our dear volunteers Eika and Albert, who completed their service. Thank you for everything you contributed—you will be greatly missed! At the same time, we’re happy to welcome Zoe and Matteo to the DRONI family. We can’t wait to see what this new chapter brings!

Local Events
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Dissemination workshop – Escape Rooms”, 1st of June
Droni volunteers implemented a workshop about Escape Rooms and Game Based Learning tools in youth field. We started with brief theoretical information about project itself InnovatorsLab and continue session with presentation which described GBL. After that we had a practical discussion about various situation and participants shared their life experience. Final part was very interesting because the space became safe for everyone so they shared emotional stories.
→ Get Ready Workshop Online: “How to Become an ESC Volunteer”, 9th of June
A total of 47 young people registered for the online workshop How to Become an ESC Volunteer, with 27 participants attending. The workshop provided participants with comprehensive information about volunteering through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme.
The workshop covered the following topics:
- How to become an ESC volunteer;
- Practical tips and recommendations for preparing a successful application;
- How to find suitable volunteering opportunities;
- Creating a project-specific CV and motivation letter;
- Criteria for choosing the right volunteering project;
- A discussion with a former ESC volunteer, who shared their personal experience and insights.
Throughout the session, participants actively asked questions about finding projects, participation requirements, age limits and other eligibility criteria, international volunteering opportunities beyond ESC, and membership in Youth Association DRONI. After the workshop, all participants received the presentation, useful resources, and additional materials shared during the session, enabling them to continue searching for volunteering opportunities and preparing their applications independently.

→ Get Ready Workshop: “Writing Poetry”, 22nd of June
On Monday, 22nd of June, a volunteer facilitated an outdoor workshop on reading and writing poetry at the amphitheatre in Mziuri Park. The workshop began with a discussion about the participants’ experiences with poetry before introducing key elements such as form, metre, rhetorical devices, and creative techniques like concrete and blackout poetry. As no screen was available, handouts with examples were used to support the presentation. While the session included questions and encouraged participation, the introductory section became longer and more theoretical than intended.
A creative writing activity had been planned for the second half of the workshop, but the participants needed to leave before it could begin. The delayed start and lengthy introduction left insufficient time, and the participants were not keen to start writing. A shorter, more interactive introduction would likely have allowed more time for practical activities.
Despite these challenges, the feedback received was positive. The volunteer enjoyed facilitating the workshop in an outdoor setting and concluded that the smaller group created a relaxed atmosphere that encouraged discussion and made it easier to engage everyone present.
→ Get Ready Workshop Online: “Everything about Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps”, 25th of June
A total of 77 young people registered for the online workshop Everything about Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps, with 39 participants attending. The workshop aimed to introduce young people to the opportunities available through the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programmes and provide practical guidance on how to participate in international projects.
The workshop covered the following topics:
- Erasmus+ youth mobility opportunities
- Membership in Youth Association DRONI and the introduction of the Droni Goes Rural initiative
- The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme
- How to find international projects and opportunities
- The application process for international projects
Throughout the session, participants actively engaged in discussions and asked questions about writing effective motivation letters, becoming a member of Youth Association DRONI, participating in Erasmus+ and ESC programmes, and accessing international opportunities for young people living outside Tbilisi.
Participants also expressed interest in additional practical workshops focused on improving motivation letters and developing stronger CVs.
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Decode the Machine”, 30th of June
Yesterday, 11 young people gathered at the Youth Association DRONI for a one-hour workshop – Decode the Machine: AI, Ethics & Smart Prompting.
We talked about how generative AI actually works, where it fails, and what separates Gemini from Claude. The core of the session was the RCIO framework – Role, Context, Instruction, Output a practical method for getting genuinely useful responses out of AI tools. Everyone left with a concrete framework in hand. Not theory something usable the same evening.

LEVEL Team volunteers’ adventures
After several days of preparation, learning and designing their own educational escape rooms, our LEVEL volunteers were finally ready to put their ideas into practice.
On 8th and 9th of June, the team facilitated escape room activities at Samgori Youth Center, where young participants had the opportunity to work together, solve challenges and learn through an interactive and game-based approach. The activities encouraged teamwork, communication, creativity and problem-solving skills while creating a fun and engaging learning environment.
Before diving into more activities, the volunteers also took part in a khinkali workshop on 4th of June where they learned how to prepare one of Georgia’s most famous traditional dishes and experienced a special part of local culture.
The learning journey continued on 11th of June with a workshop about Europe and the European Union for 20+ young participants.
The workshop combined learning, teamwork and friendly competition through an interactive educational game. After energizers and team-building activities, participants formed groups and explored Europe through a large game board filled with questions, challenges and creative tasks.
Young people learned about European geography, culture, history, languages and the European Union while solving problems, supporting their teammates and competing to reach the finish line first. Challenge stations encouraged creativity, quick thinking, confidence and cooperation, making the learning process both educational and enjoyable.
The winning team received small prizes, and the activity ended with refreshments and informal discussions, giving participants the opportunity to share their thoughts and continue learning from one another. Through escape rooms, workshops and intercultural activities, our volunteers continue to create engaging learning experiences and strengthen connections with local young people.

International Projects
→ “Be Food Conscious”, held in France
From 30th of May to 5th of June, DRONI members participated in the seminar “Be Food Conscious” in France together with young people from Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, and France. The project focused on exploring sustainable food as an educational tool in youth work and community projects while developing skills in non-formal education and exchanging experiences between participants.
Through workshops, discussions, and practical activities, participants explored topics such as food waste, healthy nutrition, and the environmental impact of food choices. They took part in a sustainable cooking workshop, created healthy meals, presented food systems from their countries, and developed ideas for integrating sustainable habits into daily life. Visits to local markets and bakeries also provided insights into traditional food production methods and strengthened the understanding of sustainable and conscious consumption.
→ “Silence of Human Rights: Echoes of War”, held in Jablunkov, Czech Republic
From 3rd to 11th of June, 33 young people from Georgia, Czech Republic, Armenia, Serbia, Ukraine, and Slovakia participated in the youth exchange “Silence of Human Rights: Echoes of War” in Jablunkov, Czech Republic. Through interactive workshops, simulations, and group discussions, participants explored human rights, democracy, and the responsibility of states to protect their citizens by creating fictional countries and drafting constitutions in international teams.
A key part of the programme was a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, encouraging reflection on the importance of human rights, tolerance, and historical memory. The exchange also included hiking and intercultural activities that strengthened intercultural understanding and built lasting friendships among participants.
→ “Synergy”, held in Kobuleti, Georgia
From 9th to 14th of June, DRONI hosted the Erasmus+ KA2 project “Synergy” study visit phase in Georgia. Participants from Georgia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, and Slovakia came together in Kobuleti to exchange experiences, learn about different youth work practices, and share methods that can be adapted by partner organisations.
The programme included visits to Zugdidi Library and its Tsaishi branch, where participants explored community work and activities with local youth, as well as Eurobus visits in Khobi and Batumi to learn about outreach work in different regions. The group also discussed inclusion and accessibility with local people with disabilities and exchanged experiences with Europe Goes Local mentees. Alongside the learning activities, participants discovered Georgian culture through traditional cooking workshops and cultural exploration, strengthening partnerships and cooperation in the field of youth work
→ “Mind in Motion”, held in Nantes, France
From 15th to 20th of June, DRONI members participated in the Youth Exchange “Mind in Motion” in Nantes, France. The project focused on teamwork, trust building, well-being, and creativity through activities such as trust exercises, canoeing, meditation, art therapy, journaling, land art, and group reflections. Participants also explored Nantes and its surroundings, creating meaningful intercultural connections and gaining new perspectives on personal development and well-being.
→ “Out of Our Minds”, held in Tenerife, Spain
From 22nd to 29th of June, 5 DRONI members participated in the Youth Exchange “Out of Our Minds” on the island of Tenerife, Spain. The project focused on self-awareness, reflecting on past experiences, and developing tools to improve mental well-being and personal growth. Through workshops, circus elements, and juggling activities, participants explored creativity, emotions, and different ways of managing stress.
The Georgian team facilitated a workshop on stress management, including mindful eating and creating personal stress-relief kits. The programme also included hikes through Tenerife’s landscapes, intercultural exchange, and opportunities to share Georgian culture. The experience helped participants gain new perspectives on mental well-being, strengthen intercultural understanding, and develop practical tools for the future.
→ “Firewall: Cybersecurity Meets Intercultural Dialogue”, held in Vanadzor, Armenia
From 24th of June to 2nd of July, DRONI members participated in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Firewall: Cybersecurity Meets Intercultural Dialogue” in Vanadzor, Armenia, together with participants from Poland, Greece, Georgia, Germany, France, and Armenia. The project focused on improving digital literacy and cybersecurity skills while exploring migration, stereotypes, and social inclusion through interactive workshops. Participants also created digital resources promoting safe internet use and shared their cultures during intercultural evenings, where the Georgian team presented Georgian traditions, cuisine, music, and dance.
→ “ReRooted: Digital Detox, Nature Skills & Inclusion” held in Croatia
From 29th of June to 4th of July, our team participated in the “ReRooted: Digital Detox, Nature Skills & Inclusion” Youth Exchange in Croatia. Throughout the project, participants developed outdoor and teamwork skills through expeditions, workshops, and outdoor challenges, learned more about Erasmus+ opportunities, and contributed to the local community by taking part in a nature clean-up. The exchange also promoted intercultural learning, personal growth, and cooperation among young people from different countries.
