NARRATIVE REPORT AND ACTION PLAN: THE STATE OF YOUTH VOLUNTEERING IN GEORGIA

Posted on 7 mins ago

As part of the Erasmus+ project VOLU-MENT: Mental Health through Volunteering, Droni is pleased to share the Narrative Report and Action Plan: The State of Youth Volunteering in Georgia.

The report explores the experiences of young volunteers and the relationship between volunteering and mental wellbeing. It presents the main findings from the Georgian research and identifies both the positive impact of volunteering and the challenges young people may experience during their volunteering journey.

The Georgian research included 109 respondents and showed a high level of satisfaction with volunteering, with an average score of 6.1 out of 7. The findings highlight positive impacts such as greater independence, stronger self-confidence, better self-knowledge, better understanding of others and being part of a supportive community.

At the same time, the research identifies challenges such as emotional burden, isolation and loneliness, coordination and logistical difficulties, interpersonal tensions and differences between expectations and reality.

Based on these findings, the report also presents an Action Plan with directions for creating more supportive and psychologically safe volunteering experiences for young people.

The findings from Georgia will contribute to the next stages of VOLU-MENT and the development of practical tools and approaches for strengthening young volunteers’ mental wellbeing.
