Hallo! Der Frühling ist endlich da! Spring indeed, but still rainy and windy weather over Tbilisi. The city is so beautiful when the sun is shining over the trees and old buildings of the pearl of the Caucasus, so we cannot wait to enjoy more outside workshops. Though, it didn’t stop our dear long term and Teams volunteers to provide nice workshops and activities, complemented by the workshops of some members.

Local Events
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Real Warriors 4 Fake News”, 6th March
The workshop was facilitated by participants of the youth exchange “Real Warriors 4 Fake News,” which was held in Spain.
The session introduced participants to the Erasmus+ program, as well as the sending organization DRONI and the hosting organization COHOPE. During the workshop, participants explored key concepts related to fake news and data security through interactive activities that helped them better understand these terms and share their ideas collectively.
As part of the session, participants were also shown videos created during the project, which helped raise awareness about the different methods used to spread misinformation and manipulate information online. Additionally, participants were introduced to several fact-checking websites, such as FactChecker, that they can use to verify whether news and information are legitimate.
One of the main activities involved teamwork: participants were asked to research the same news story using three different sources and present how the same information can be portrayed differently to support distinct narratives.
This was followed by a fun exercise in which participants passed a sentence through movement and drawing to one another. The activity demonstrated how information can gradually drift away from the original message as it is shared from person to person.
In the final part of the workshop, participants reflected on how fake news, propaganda, and social media can influence people emotionally and affect their decisions. They also shared how they plan to apply the knowledge gained during the workshop in their daily lives in order to make more informed decisions and better manage their emotional responses to information encountered online.
→ Get Ready Workshop: Italiuri filmi #6 : La Chimera by Alice Rohrwacher (2023), 9th March
For the first part of the Droni’s initiative for the International Women’s Week, in the office was screened the italian film La Chimera, directed by Alice Rohrwacher and released in 2023. Since the main topic of the film is quite related to some aspects of Italian culture, our volunteers prepared a presentation about it. After the end of the screening, our volunteers also host and moderate a discussion with the other members and volunteers.
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Table of Forgotten Women”, 12th March
This workshop was part of a workshop series which was held in the week following the international women’s day on 8th of march and took place on the 12th of march. DRONI members and volunteers facilitated a workshop about forgotten women in history, who were overshadowed by men in the same field or simply overseen by history. During the workshop participants dove into the life of these women and created posters about them. Through this activity they created a new narrative in which women are all throughout history really much able to be as powerful and inventive as men.
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Feminist Round Table”, 13th March
On Friday the 13th of march the last workshop of the women’s week was facilitated by DRONI members and volunteers. The format of this workshop was an open roundtable discussion setting. Participants were able to reflect about gender inequality and the modern way of feminism. A special focus of the workshop was on Georgian women in Italy as an important workforce for their families back in Georgia.
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Psycho Edu club”, 14th, 21st & 28th March
The psycho-educational club has now successfully completed its first module. During the first sessions the facilitators talked about the importance of psycho-education and made a clear distinction between psychotherapy, counselling and coaching. Myths were debunked and cases were discussed to ensure real-life applicability of the acquired knowledge. By the means of roleplaying, participants strengthened our understanding of what it means to be an ethically bound therapist. Participants learned about the important personal and professional boundaries between the client and their therapist. Not only this but we also learned more about the path of education a therapist must undergo to start an accredited practice and what key factors we must pay attention to while choosing our therapist. Last but not least, with the help of the facilitators participants peaked into the curtains of different schools of psychotherapy. By looking at a case we discussed how representatives of each school would approach the therapeutic process. The facilitators finalized the sessions by doing a small recap activity to ensure the information from previous sessions was well understood and built into the memory of the participants.
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Social Media is fake?”, 18th March
The workshop was about distinguishing real social media from fake. Most people fake social media to look perfect. This causes most people to think about their lives badly. The workshop taught people why not to compare their lives to other influencers and showed that most of the content is faked. Also it shows only two minutes of their lives so what we see is just a glimpse of someone’s life. Advice has been given to use social media wisely and only be inspired by successful people instead of feeling bad about your life.Participants were given the task to create posts for their instagram or facebook and make it perfect. So we could not tell if it was faked. It was a great example of how easily social media can be faked.
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Stop the scroll – Content Creation 101”, 25th March
The workshop “Content Creation 101” aimed to give a strong starting point to individuals interested in content creation. Our main goal was to motivate participants and provide them with the basic tools needed to stand out across different platforms, find their target audience and capture attention in a fast-paced digital space where users are often overwhelmed with content.
To achieve this, we introduced the three main types of hooks, explaining how they work and sharing practical examples of how to use them effectively to create engaging content that makes people “stop scrolling”. We also discussed the importance of storytelling, how to keep the audience interested and encourage them to watch content until the end, especially after grabbing their attention with a strong hook.
My colleague Mariam provided valuable guidance on how participants can identify their own content line, helping them stay focused and avoid getting lost while trying to do everything at once.
However, the most important part of the workshop was the practical experience. Participants had the opportunity to apply the knowledge they gained and create their own video content in DRONI’s comfortable and friendly environment.
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Tourism and Place Branding”, 27th March
The month of February concluded in DRONI with a workshop conducted by our new volunteer Florian from France. Indeed, participants gathered in the office to dive into the subject of Urban Planning and Public Transportation. After having introduced the first notions of Urban Sciences and Geography of Transportation, discussion sparked about the multiple examples of transportation offers across the World and in Georgia, as well as their development prospects. Then, participants were able to draw their own ideal Tbilisi’s public transportation network in printed maps and to showcase their work in front of the others. It led to various interesting ideas and highlighted how inhabitants perceive the development of their own city.
→ Get Ready Workshop: “Improve Artability”, 30th March
On 30th of March, we presented a workshop called “Improve artability with us” at the DRONI office. Participants of the “Improve Artability” project that happened in the Netherlands led the workshop.
Workshop was divided into 3 parts:
1) Introduction and dissemination of the project,
2) Presentation about types of disabilities and needs of people with them,
3) Interactive, fun and informative activity.
In the first part of the workshop we presented and shared our experience during the project, its location, goals and activities, we also showed them our taken pictures and a small video about our adventure.
In the second part of the workshop participants discovered concepts regarding different types of disabilities and communication methods with people, what they need for everyday life, in the presentation we also talked about what we need and what we have right now in Georgia for people with disabilities and what are their challenges that they daily come across – Transportation, accessibilities, street accessories and more.
In the final part of the workshop we tried to imitate life from their point of view through interactive activity that helped them better understand these aspects and share their ideas together, the activity was taken from the project itself, each participant in groups of 4 had to choose 1 disability to go with and create art figures with only help of group leader who was the only one who knew what the task was.
At the end of the program, we received feedback and impressions regarding the workshop, what went right and what could be improved, participants shared their thoughts and we finished the day on a good note.

Create and act Team volunteers’ adventures
The first week of Create & Act is behind us, and our Erasmus+ and Team ESC volunteers have officially started their journey in Tbilisi.
The week was all about getting to know each other, discovering the city and building the skills that will support their volunteering experience in the coming months.
It began with an orientation meeting where volunteers received guides and useful information about the project and the activities ahead. To get familiar with their new environment, they explored Tbilisi through a fun city tour and experienced the city together.
Volunteers also started learning the basics of the Georgian language, which will continue in the coming weeks and help them better connect with the local culture and community.
During a Canva workshop, participants learned how to design postcards and will soon create their own unique ones inspired by their experiences in Georgia.
One of the highlights of the week was the cultural night, where each country shared its traditions, culture and stories in a relaxed atmosphere together with DRONI volunteers and friends.
The week finished with a workshop on presentation techniques, where volunteers learned useful tips on how to prepare and lead their own workshops in the future.
This is just the beginning, stay tuned to see how our volunteers will create, act and contribute to positive change in the community.
The second week of the Create & Act project brought our Erasmus+ and Team ESC volunteers closer to taking action in the community.
The week started with a workshop about EU opportunities, where volunteers learned more about programmes they would later present to local youth, including Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps and Youth Exchanges.
The following days were dedicated to preparation. Volunteers worked together to design their workshops, plan activities and prepare materials using non-formal education methods.
On 5 March, the team conducted their first workshop at Tbilisi Youth Center, introducing young people to EU programmes and sharing their own experiences. The session included energizers, a Q&A and interactive discussions.
On 6 March, volunteers delivered another workshop at Green School for pupils aged 14–16. Through games, group work and a Kahoot quiz, students learned about European opportunities and even created their own Erasmus+ project ideas.
The team is grateful to Tbilisi Youth Center and Green School for hosting the activities and supporting the connection between international volunteers and local youth.
More activities are coming soon as volunteers continue to create and act for positive change in the community.
The third week of the Create & Act project continued with even more action, learning and connection.
The first days of the week were dedicated to preparation. Volunteers worked on developing new workshop topics, improving their methods and creating more interactive activities. This time, they focused on making their sessions even more engaging through non-formal education and teamwork.
On 11 March, volunteers took part in a Tbilisi Alternative Tour together with long-term volunteers and DRONI members. Instead of the city center, they explored less-known parts of Tbilisi – from Didi Dighomi and the monument of Saint Nino to Lisi Lake and the Nutsubidze Skybridge. It was a great opportunity to discover a different side of the city and connect with each other in a relaxed environment.
The rest of the week was dedicated to workshops.
On 12 March, volunteers conducted a workshop at Isani Youth Center. Through interactive stations, energizers, discussions and a Kahoot quiz, young people learned about EU opportunities such as Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.
On 13 March, another workshop took place at Samgori Youth Center with 20–25 participants. Using similar non-formal methods, volunteers created a dynamic and engaging space where young people explored opportunities, asked questions and shared their thoughts.
Both workshops showed strong interest from participants and created meaningful connections between international volunteers and local youth.
More activities are coming soon as volunteers continue to create, act and inspire positive change in the community.

International Projects
→ “Creative Campaigning”, held in Germany
During our Creative Campaigning training, we had the opportunity to learn how successful campaigns are designed and implemented. We were also introduced to various organizations from across Europe, met their representatives, and explored the practices they use in campaigning, particularly in relation to Solidarity Action Day.
The training was both impactful and diverse, as it included a wide range of activities such as group discussions, debates, and creative presentations. One of the most valuable aspects was the in-depth analysis of well-known campaigns. Examining real-life examples made the learning process more practical, clear, and engaging.
At the end of the training, we reflected on what we had learned and evaluated our readiness to develop our own campaign within our organizations. We, as Droni representatives, feel confident and well-prepared to organize the first Solidarity Action Day in Georgia in the near future.
→ “’Improve ArtAbility!”, held in Band, Netherlands
From February 20 to March 2, Droni members participated in a Erasmus+ youth exchange program ‘’Improve ArtAbility!’’. The goal of the project was to promote awareness among young people about mental health through the use of creative arts, as well as to create an inclusive space for people with disabilities and without, by sharing the environment in general.
Participating Georgian youth (in the exchange program) led and conducted a variety of creative activities during one activity day (organizing theatrical performances, activities focused on identifying nonverbal expressions of emotions, debunking myths about mental health by displaying short presentations, etc.).
During the project, along with thematic activities on creative arts, cultural evenings were held, where the members of Droni gave a short presentation about Georgia to the youth participating in the project, as well as offering them to taste Georgian cuisine and drinks, demonstrated Georgian dances, and etc.
