On April 11th, a workshop focused on debating was held. It began with a brief introduction explaining the key differences between arguing and debating, helping participants understand the value of structured discussion over emotional disagreement.
The next activity, titled Hot Take or Cold Fact, engaged participants in identifying whether controversial statements were based on opinion or fact, encouraging critical thinking and open dialogue. Following this attendees were introduced to the format and rules of Chicago-style debates, gaining insight into a more formal approach to debating.
To wrap up the session, participants were assigned a debate topic and given time to prepare, allowing them to apply what they had learned. The workshop was both educational and engaging, promoting essential communication skills.
