After we got to know each other in Kobuleti, in Georgia, as well as human rights of course, we had to spread the word in our respective countries. As a part of our training, we organised several activities back home, sometimes in our national groups, sometimes by ourselves. In all cases, we acquired some experience that we could share with our peers.
This second half of the project started, after getting to (re)know each other games, by recapping what we did back home. Of course we had to put everyone on the same page to be able to go further into the topic : Human Rights Education.
On the second day, we started diving deeper into the topic, which is composed of a few things. First, it is delivered with non-formal education, second, it needs a holistic approach, it is not the vertical approach that some people might approach it with. Human rights is for everyone, therefore it is everyone’s. Our last activity for the day was preparing for the next one, the D-day! We were given some Compass activities to run and some time to prepare them. In our groups, we worked so that the activities were ready by the start of the next day.
But what would be an erasmus project without good cultural evenings?
On the third day, we got a little preview of what human rights education actually is. During the whole day, one group facilitated the session while the others were participating and then giving feedback to each other. It was a great way to put our acquired knowledge in practice.
On the forth day, we had some time for ourselves, from the small Christmas market in Hagen to the big city of Dortmund, we scattered around the region and had a good time !
Back to our training on the fifth day, we had time left to document our training. In national team groups, we created a booklet to present the project as a whole ! Look at what our Ukrainian friends came up with… And it is only the first page…
We also had time for a youthpass session, and evaluating the project, where we chose one card each with a quote on it, and we had to link it to our experience from the project. It was a wonderful way to close this week’s learning process. Until next time…
