From September 2-9, representatives of the Youth Association “DRONI” participated in a training course held in the city of Turku, Finland.
The topic of the workshop was “INSPIRE, ENGAGE, AND INITIATE CHANGE THROUGH PARTICIPATION.” Representatives from four countries — Georgia, Finland, Armenia, and Turkey — took part in the project. Participants learned about the specifics of NGO operations, visited local centers in Turku, and had discussions with their representatives. According to the participants, this day was the most interesting and memorable for them as they had the opportunity to meet Finnish youth, learn about their challenges, and visit youth and information centers in Turku, which are particularly productive.
The final days of the project were dedicated to putting the theoretical knowledge into practice. The participants were divided into groups and began brainstorming two projects they could implement with limited resources. Eventually, they outlined the projects, their goals, and objectives, and soon these projects will be put into practice.
Salome: “This training course was memorable and interesting for me. It showed me how important participation is and the value of taking every opportunity. When opportunities don’t exist, you need to create them. I learned how to write a project, which will definitely be useful for me in the future to give my ideas an official form and bring them to life. I discovered the opportunities available in other countries, met interesting people, and explored the small yet history-rich city of Turku in Finland. From now on, I will face new challenges, projects, and opportunities with more courage, knowledge, and experience.”
